How can I guarantee I am getting what I paid for? Can they ‘skimp’ on materials?

It is only good business to communicate with your contractor and make sure that contractor is legitimate. At Kingsview, we make every attempt to fulfill all customer expectations. We log and maintain all slips with regard to materials used on every job. As always, if there are any questions or concerns- Contact us! We will make sure all your concerns are addressed in a timely basis. Not all projects can be perfect but at Kingsview we work hard daily to make sure the customer is happy. If we need to go back and fix something- we will. The sides are often appear to have less asphalt due to tapering of the driveway for water drainage and your blacktop will be compacted with a roller to assure a smooth and level consistency. Note: If you are promised 4” of asphalt or blacktop- the compacted product in reality will be 1 ½” to 2” in depth. But to cover any unforeseen issues, Kingsview is one of the few companies that offers an extended, full-service warranty given that you maintain your driveway appropriately.

As far as maintenance on my new asphalt driveway-What is expected?

We recommend seal coating the asphalt project the first two years after paving and every other year thereafter. We don’t recommend sealing the new asphalt too quickly as it could remain soft. Remember: New asphalt is not as hard as concrete initially. It will take up to two years to cure. Especially in heat, don’t park in the same spot, don’t place anything on the blacktop that could push through such as lawn chairs, bike kick stands or tools. *Ask for our Knowledgeable Fact Sheet that covers a short list of needed facts about your blacktop project.

Can I ask for references?

By all means, if you need further verification, we maintain a list of customers, both residential & commercial, that are willing to be contacted for references. Do your homework. Ask questions. There are many companies that will knock on your door and these’ fly by nighters’ often don’t have the expertise, materials or the equipment to do the job you need. Your project is an investment. Take the time to make sure you will get what you want and need.

How long should my driveway last?

A properly installed and maintained driveway can last 10 to 20 years! Seal Coat, fill cracks and keep the asphalt clean of any petroleum products and your driveway should maintain it’s curb appeal for years!
